DIY Hexagon Wall Art in 3 Simple Steps

Step by Step Instructions

I don't have boys, but I do have a whole lot of nephews! My house is full of glitter and dolls, so I thought I would change it up and make a sports themed craft since they are all obsessed! This picture frame takes several supplies, but is super fun and easy to make!

Here are the steps to create your own Sports Themed Picture Frame:

FOR THIS PROJECT YOU WILL NEED:

Scrapbook paper

Glue stick

Canvas

STEP 1: PUNCH HEXAGONS

I first selected 7-8 sheets of scrapbook paper that I thought coordinated well. Using the hexagon punch, I punched ten or so of each paper and made piles.

STEP 2: LAYOUT DESIGN

Next, I laid out the hexagons to create my design. I made sure to leave about an eighth of an inch in between each hexagon so the white of the canvas would show through. You could first paint the canvas if you wanted to have a different color.

I had to cut the hexagons to fit around the sides, top and bottom. I also chose to not fill the entire canvas. I like the look of it being a little more organic than so uniform

STEP 3: GLUE HEXAGONS

Use a glue stick to glue the paper to your canvas. DO NOT use bottled glue such as Elmer's unless you use a paintbrush to smooth out the glue evenly before sticking your paper down. Otherwise, your paper might bubble up. Let the glue dry completely.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial! I'd love to hear your thoughts on how the project goes for you! Don't forget to follow Urban Rhino on social media and subscribe to our website for more upcoming home decor and craft tips and tutorials!
