How to Plan the Perfect Donut Themed Birthday Party

Tips for the Yummiest Party Ever!

Planning parties is one of my favorite things to do. Although I realize I've become "that mom", I really don't care lol! It's fun, my girls love it, and I know years from now they will look back and appreciate all the time and effort I spent on them...at least that's what I'm telling myself!

So here are a few ideas to make your next party a sweet success!

To start, I ordered a lot, and I mean a LOOOOOTTT, of donuts! I used my favorite local donut bakery, Donut Central, who is amazing to work with. I was able to give them a list of donut flavors and themes, and they did not disappoint! Make sure you check them out if you are in the Columbus area. Their cinnamon rolls with cream cheese icing are to. die. for.

I mean, just check out these amazing unicorn donuts. Pink, sweet, sprinkles and a unicorn horn? You can imagine how crazy a bunch of 5 year old girls went for them! Needless to say, there weren't any left at the end of the party.

As for the signs, I was able to find a cute little donut clip art image to use, and I just Photoshopped the image onto a colored background. I then printed them and folded them in half to make little table tent cards. The larger signs were also made in Photoshop.

In addition to the standard donuts we are all used to, I wanted to include something different. I ordered both glazed and cinnamon sugar donut holes, along with a variety of dipping sauces. I also put out a tray of different sugars and sprinkles for the kids to choose from. A bit messy, but also a hit!

Along with the donuts, I included strawberries and mixed berries to offer to the guests. In continuing with the whole "breakfast" concept, we also had bacon and a variety of juices.

Of course there has to be a cake. Normally, I would make a regular cake and decorate it to fit the theme. But for this party, my daughter wanted a donut tower cake! So what Olivia wants, Olivia gets! I ordered the sign topper from Amazon.

For each of my girls' parties, I like to include a table for the little kids. I keep this white one with the six chairs in their playroom, so I always drag it up for party days. I get fabric that matches the theme (the donut fabric shown was from Hobby Lobby), and try to add some kid friendly decor to the table.

And of course, there have to be party favors! I tend to go a tad overboard in this department. Basically, I can't keep myself from buying something that goes with whatever the theme is! I guess the little guests reap the benefit of my addiction lol!

Everything on the favor table I purchased from either Amazon or Hobby Lobby (yet another addiction). I like to put out bags and let the kids grab what they want. With my kids being girls, the boy guests don't always want everything we put out...so I let them choose! I also think it looks so much cuter than just having the bags sitting out.

Finally, the party isn't complete without an outfit for the party girl! We found Olivia's shirt at Justice (yes, mine is from there too!), and her skirt was from Target. I took a cute pink headband and hot glued a donut eraser onto the middle of the bow...super easy!

Vivian's dress was ordered from Amazon. You can purchase the dress HERE.

The husband tends to do his own thing (insert rolling eyes emoji).

So, just how cute are my girls?

Other than the normal party decorations...balloons, pictures, decor, etc., that about wraps it up! Are you planning a donut party soon? I'd love to hear how it went! Don't forget to follow Urban Rhino on social media and subscribe to our website for more upcoming party tips!
